Hogsmill have developed an easy-to-use, low cost Content Management System (CMS) that is rapidly being deployed across many SME sites around the UK.

The system is designed so that businesses build and manage rich, functional content on their web site with no programming or markup skills and no possibility of breaking the design by incorrectly formatted content.

The idea is to make it fun and easy to update a site, with enough control over content so that it's impossible to trash the design.

As an example, the system includes a fully functional crop/resize image editor so that images can be resized to fit in with the p[age layout. Certain elements. like events and news items, or products, have set sizes of images, and the system will not allow other sizes to be uploaded.

If a user wants an images slider, they simply upload the images (resizing/cropping as necessary), and the site just works out how to display it. Image order can be easily changed with a simple click.

To edit text, the site owner simply clicks on the text to edit, and a editor pops up. The editor has facilities for basic formatting (but not too much to avoid design breaking), and allows insertion of site page links, contact links, without having to worry about markup.

In order to keep the content on a site fresh with minimum effort, content from other sites - blogs, image libraries, Twitter, etc. - can be easily included in a Hogsmill CMS site. Industry-relevant news can also be included, as can RSS content from any other site.
